The promotion of equal opportunities is an important spearhead for municipalities. Zaanstad actively involved the children in their municipality by going through a process together with ConsultingKids in which the central question is what the municipality can do to ensure that growing up in poverty does not lead to inequality among young people. Together with children from four different neighborhoods we started to find out what children think is needed and what role the municipality can play in this.
